The International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) is a global organization that brings together young socialists from across the world to discuss and promote progressive policies and ideals. Founded in 1907, IUSY is the world’s largest and oldest youth political organization and is recognized as the official youth wing of the Socialist International.
One of the most important events in the IUSY calendar is the World Council, which serves as the organization’s highest decision-making body. This event brings together delegates from IUSY member organizations to discuss and debate key issues facing young people and to plan for the future.
The World Council is an important forum for young people from all over the world to engage in dialogue and exchange ideas. With representatives from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences, the World Council provides a platform for young people to learn from one another, build networks, and develop strategies for creating positive change in their communities and countries.
Dialogue among states is crucial for building a more just and peaceful world. By coming together to discuss shared challenges and opportunities, young people can help to break down barriers and promote mutual understanding and cooperation.
As one of the proud organizers of the IUSY World Council in Tirana, Albania in June 2022, I was thrilled to see so many young people from around the world come together to exchange ideas and build networks. This event was an important step towards creating a more just and equitable world, and I am honoured to have been a part of it.
