Participation in ISOCARP 2023
In 2023, I had the honor of participating in the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) Congress, a prestigious platform that brings together urban planning professionals, researchers, and policymakers from around the globe. ISOCARP is renowned for its commitment to advancing the practice of urban planning and fostering dialogue about contemporary urban challenges. The congress serves as a forum for sharing innovative ideas, strategies, and best practices that can transform cities and enhance the quality of life for their inhabitants.
During this year’s congress, I presented our research project titled “Where Albania Walks.” This initiative focuses on the importance of walkability in urban environments and explores how pedestrian-friendly designs can significantly impact social interactions, economic vitality, and overall urban health. The research highlights the potential for transforming public spaces in Albania to create more inclusive, vibrant, and sustainable communities.
Through the presentation, I engaged with fellow participants, sharing insights and discussing the practical implications of our findings. The discussions sparked meaningful exchanges about urban mobility, sustainability, and the role of public spaces in enhancing community well-being. I was particularly inspired by the collaborative spirit of ISOCARP, which emphasizes the importance of knowledge-sharing and interdisciplinary approaches in addressing complex urban issues.
My participation in ISOCARP 2023 has further reinforced my commitment to advocating for innovative urban planning solutions in Albania and beyond. I look forward to continuing these vital conversations and exploring opportunities for collaboration that will contribute to the development of resilient and livable urban spaces.
