Bachelor Thesis final Jury

In June 2022, I had the distinct honor of participating as a panel evaluator for the Bachelor Thesis final colloquium at the German University of Technology (GUtech) in Oman. This event brought together a talented group of students presenting their innovative projects focused on developing sustainable strategies for the Manumah beach neighborhood. As a professional deeply invested in urban planning and design, it was a privilege to engage with the students and assess their creative approaches to contemporary urban challenges.

During the presentations, I was impressed by the students’ dedication and the thoughtful solutions they proposed to enhance sustainability in urban environments. Each presentation not only showcased their technical skills but also highlighted their understanding of the social and ecological implications of urban development. It was invigorating to witness such passion and commitment to creating meaningful, impactful projects that resonate with the local community and environment.

Evaluating their theses provided me with a fresh perspective on emerging trends in urban design, as well as the challenges young professionals face in their quest to contribute positively to their communities. The discussions following each presentation allowed for an exchange of ideas that I found immensely valuable, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and mentorship in the field of urban planning.

I look forward to continuing my involvement in academic initiatives that foster the next generation of architects and urban planners. Engaging with students and supporting their growth is not only fulfilling but also crucial in nurturing innovative thinkers who will lead the charge in creating sustainable urban environments for the future.
